Description
Our Journey Program provides after-school and summer programming for refugee students to improve academic performance. Most have limited or interrupted schooling resulting from their refugee journeys. They often express feeling heightened pressures at home to help care for and support their non English speaking families. This program provides refugee youth with a place to belong, to define and strive for success, and to receive the support they need to grow academically and socially. Through the use of tutoring, mentoring, creative expression and school partnerships, LMV helps students achieve their academic and life goals despite these adversities.

Description
At LMV we believe that education is an inherent human right. For the last five years, we have been working to provide access to special needs education in rural parts of Rwanda. In Rwanda, the education system suffers from an insufficient number of qualified teachers and negative attitudes from the community towards special needs learners.
