Description
The Family Empowerment Program is a partnership between St. Luke's, United Way, and DHS. The goal is to provide eligible families with the resources and support to attain and maintain stable housing. While keeping families in their homes is the ultimate objective, families come with an array of needs that include education and GED classes, job training, debt reduction, and financial literacy. Our case managers work with parents and caregivers in identifying and setting goals, provide weekly meetings and support, and offer access to additional resources as needed. One of our case managers works specifically with homeless students and families within Metro Nashville Public Schools.

Through the Mobile Meals program, trusted volunteers deliver a combination of six fresh and frozen meals each week for over 100 seniors. The meals are prepared by our on-campus partner, The Nashville Food Project. The program operates year-round and is open to any senior (age 55+) or disabled adult in west and north Nashville. These twice-weekly visits provide seniors with one of the most reliable and consistent social connections they have.

The Preschool offers year-round, full-time (55 hours per week) childcare to children ages six weeks to five years of age from multicultural backgrounds. We provide a safe and healthy learning environment for the children we serve, and we strongly believe in partnering with both parents and community organizations to ensure that the best services are being provided to empower and support our preschool families. We prioritize the needs of low-income families who often struggle to afford the rising costs of childcare. St. Luke's Preschool accepts childcare certificates and sliding scale tuition is offered.
Our classrooms provide a rich learning environment for the children we serve. Our classrooms are designed to take what we know about working with children from low-income homes and translate that into practices that will help children be on track and ready to succeed in kindergarten. Children in our program also receive a healthy breakfast, lunch, and snack each day.
