Description
Family Support represents the various activities put on by the PTO that support the families and children of Julia Green. These include the creation and coordination of communication (newsletter, email listserv coordinator, website, directory, signs, handbook, first day folder, etc.); Fall Carnival; Read-a-Thon, Back to School Picnic, Field Day, Spirit Store, kindergarten orientation, prospective parents open house and various other activities that enrich and enhance the educational environment for Julia Green children and families.

The PTO supports the administration and teachers of Julia Green Elementary by providing supplies, providing funding for certain salaries/wages, and funding for the purchase of certain equipment. The PTO provides supplies to supplement those provided to the school. These supplies include art and music supplies, classroom supplies, and books for the library and reading interventionist. The PTO funds the salaries and wages of services provided to approximately 500 children through a reading specialist. The PTO purchases equipment needed by the school not otherwise funded such as computer equipment, software and related equipment.
