CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments
Lighthouse has served the Antioch and surrounding community since 1979, to educate preschoolers, children and young adults in Christian education. Until the devastating May 2010 floods, we had never asked for assistance from our community. We existed on the minimal tuition of less than $7,000 per student per year. Following these floods that damaged or destroyed eight(8) of our buildings, we were faced with potential closure. The intervention of our Nashville community and ABC's Extreme Makeover provided the salvation necessary to complete Phase I of the preschool reconstruction. Then in July of 2010, we launched our first ever capital campaign to complete Phase II and bring home our youngest students, our two and three year olds. This $813,000 campaign will continue through 2013. Now we are faced with several challenges, the greatest of which is classroom space. we currently utilize all available classroom space and have no more room to expand into. If we are to continue to serve the needs of area families who desire a private Christian education for their child, we must have additional space. We are grateful to Nashville for its support and pledge to continue our service to our community, impacting children for the next generation. |
