The Outreach and Prevention Services Division conducts HIV/AIDS risk reduction counseling and testing; individual level risk reduction intervention utilizing a CDC approved tool; street outreach to link individuals to substance abuse pre-treatment services within Street Works; conducts community outreach to deliver HIV/AIDS prevention education training and materials within diverse community settings; operates a Condom Distribution Network comprised of local businesses that accept sexual responsibility kits for distribution to their customers; and participates in a host of community-wide HIV/AIDS awareness and health fairs to disseminate prevention information and materials.

The Early Intervention Services (EIS) Division serves the newly diagnosed and those who have been lost to care for six months or longer. EIS' primary role is to link or re-link individuals to medical care services, and to other community resources that address the needs identified during the intake and comprehensive assessment phases. EIS serves as a liaison in preparing participants for their initial medical care provider visit; transporting individuals to their appointments; and sitting-in during participant/doctor consultations to ensure participant understands provider communication. EIS works with individuals up to one year to ensure medical stabilization before the individual is transferred to Medical Case Management for ongoing support services. EIS serves Davidson County. EIS maintains its presence by actively attending and participating in community functions.

| As CEO and founder of Street Works, I must say this journey had been a true blessing for me. The agency was started from the trunk of my car with donated condoms and brochures. The mission started on the corner of 16th and Jo Johnston Ave. On that corner a group of men were hanging out, I explained what my intentions were and asked their permission to work in their neighborhood. (They were the gate keepers). Not only did they give me permission but they asked what they could do to help. "When God gives you a mission, He will also give you tools to accomplish them". All too often people in public housing get a bad rap, but let me tell you,One of those guys standing on that corner actually donated $1500.00 to help me get started and another program, allowed me to use an apartment MDHA had donated for their program. To make a long story short, the Lord have blessed me to do this work, find people on the streets at night and other times when traditional agencies are not at work (people who are invisible in the main stream society) and he sent me angels to work alongside of me and together we are changing lives one day at a time.
