Description
We provide gently used furniture and household items including new bedding to individuals who are transitioning from homelessness into housing, who are referred to House2Home (formerly Cheryl's List) by case workers from social agencies in the Nashville area.
We offer free pick-up of gently used furniture and other basic household items from donors. We provide free delivery and set-up of furniture and other household goods to recipients who have been referred.

House2Home Nashville (formerly Cheryl's List) has operated as a 501(c) 3 nonprofit under the 510 Foundation since 2014 for the purpose of providing gently used furniture, especially beds, and other basic household items to formerly homeless people who have been placed in housing by social service agencies in Nashville. to date we have assisted more than 900 households and picked up donated items from over 1,000 households. With our staff of unpaid volunteers, we have assisted 1/3 of the referrals received from human services agencies.
Short-term Success
The recently adopted goal of House2Home Nashville is to double the number of households we assist from our average of 125 households per year to 250 households in a 12 month period.
Program Success Monitored By
Statistics and information about donors making monetary donations are maintained through Network for Good software. Referrals are maintained via Google docs which includes the following data: referring agency and caseworker's contact information; Name, address, and phone number of individuals referred for services with locations where deliveries are to be made; Names, locations and specific items of furniture and household goods to be donated are recorded with needed pick-up information. Daily logs of pick-ups and deliveries are maintained. Statistics are reported at each House2Home Nashville Advisory Board meeting and to the 510 Foundation Board at its quarterly meetings. The House2Home Planning Team provides ongoing strategic planning and oversight in three areas: Missional Operations, Organizational Operations including fundraising, and Promotional including social media.

| The need for additional volunteers is always a challenge. This year, given our goal to increase the number of households that we serve, we are seeking additional volunteers to assist with pick-up of donated items and delivery of items to recipients as well as to sort and organize donated household items in the warehouse. Our base of donors has expanded, and we now have a computerized program to track and to communicate with our donors. Funding purchases of new mattresses is essential to our work so we are planning for outdoor and virtual fundraisers over the next few months and are seeking grants for which we can apply as well as other fundraising opportunities. |
