CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments

Every day we ask ourselves, are our alumni climbing the mountain to and through college? The answer is our KIPPsters are taking steps every day toward college graduation. The KIPP Nashville Alumni Class of 2016 surpassed national high school graduation rates and sent more students to four year colleges than ever before. Our KIPP Through College program is closing the national opportunity gap through supporting students as they navigate high school, prepare for college entry and work hard on their journey toward college completion. Our KIPP Class of 2016 had a 92% high school graduation rate, compared with a national average of 76%. Our first class of KIPP Nashville alumni graduated from college in May 2017 and have at least doubled the graduation rate of their peers. Across the United States, less than 10% of students from low-income families earn college degrees. KTC is determined to change that statistic.
