Impact

The purpose of our organization is to help sustain affordable living through our housing placement service. Our goal is to help support our families for 120 days along with after-care check-ins. We provide a housing wrap-around, continuum of care to aid families in navigating housing resources, finding and maintaining housing, and assisting them in the moving process. Other support services include financial assistance for rent/mortgages and utility assistance, helping the clients advance in employment and supplying household items needed to move in, rent deposits, food services, interviews, and regular clothing distributions.

Due to the devastating impact of COVID-19 on businesses, families, and the nation, we are now receiving an array of moderate and occasionally upper-income families who reach out for our assistance.

GOD CAN RESTORE WHAT IS BROKEN AND CHANGE IT INTO SOMETHING AMAZING. ALL YOU NEEED IS FAITH !!!!

Needs

The Tennessee Housing Needs Assessment states the issues well. More than one in four Tennesseans experience some kind of housing problem as defined by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This definition includes a household that pays more than 30 percent of their income on housing, lives in overcrowded conditions, or lacks kitchen or plumbing facilities. Housing needs are particularly acute among minority households in Tennessee, with almost one half of all minority households experiencing housing problems.

Homelessness, foreclosures, and a shortage of affordable rental units for very low-income renters stand out among the most prominent aspects of Tennessee's housing issues. Homelessness is an issue that can be found in both rural and urban parts of Tennessee. In fact, on any given night in 2011, there were likely to be over 9,000 individuals who did not have homes at all.

Tennessee's foreclosure rate mirrors that of the nation and foreclosures continue to have negative impacts on many housing markets across the state. In 2011, seventeen counties in Tennessee had at least one foreclosure filing for every 100 housing units. BRRM provides our from rent to home ownership options for a family in need.
