Cathey's Experience: Cathey Sweeney has served as Executive Director since December 2014. Sweeney, a native of Marshall County, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration and Sociology. Prior to coming to Wilson County CASA, she was a Regional Executive for the Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee for over thirteen years. Other non profit employment experience includes, The American Red Cross in Louisville Kentucky, The PENCIL Foundation in Nashville Tennessee, and the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation in Chattanooga Tennessee. Community Volunteer Experience includes: Leadership Wilson Graduate-2004; Leadership Wilson - Board of Directors; Past, Lebanon/Wilson County Chamber - Ambassador Chairperson; Lebanon/Wilson County Chamber - Board of Directors; Junior League of Chattanooga; United Way of Sumner County - President of the Agency Council; currently serving on the Board of Mid Cumberland Council on Children and Youth. Was named 2016 Woman of The Year, by the Wilson Post. Received the 'Wilsonian of The Year' in 2019 from the Mt. Juliet Chamber of Commerce. |

As child abuse and neglect continues to rise in Wilson County, we struggle to manage the number of volunteers to be supervised. An additional Full time Program Manager will be necessary soon. Funding is the challenge for staffing. |
