Description
CASA provides volunteer advocates to work with children in the legal system from initial hearing to the permanency of a child's situation. CASA is appointed by the court or receives referrals from community agencies or DCS. Advocates focus on a child's long-term care.

Description
Adults who volunteer with CASA participate in 30 hours of classroom training and 4 hours of court observation. The training is based on the national CASA curriculum and covers all aspects of the legal system, understanding families, the role of a volunteer and reporting requirements. Volunteers are also provided in-service training and updates to cover changes in the legal system.
