Since the inaugural conference in 2011, diverse community partners, mental health providers, and experts on the forefront of the Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) movement have come together each summer to provide powerful experiential learning that can transform school culture, strengthen support systems, and improve the overall success and wellness of students.

Description
The purpose of the English Learners (EL) Advisory Board is to strengthen the collaboration between the EL office and community partners serving our international families. Community partners have strong connections with families and students, and MNPS's goal is to leverage that connection to ensure that families know their rights, are aware of available resources and programs, and understand the education and support their child is receiving in school. Community partners are also able to share the needs they see in the communities they serve to inform the MNPS EL Office's programming and initiatives.

Description
The Nashville Out of School Time (OST) Collaborative brings together youth service providers to ensure that all youth in Nashville (K-12) have access to high-quality OST programming, regardless of location or socioeconomic status. With more than fifty organizations involved, the OST Collaborative is dedicated to serving the specific needs of the community and resolving any present equity gaps.

Description
The Youth Health Equity Collaborative (YHEC) brings Nashville-focused stakeholders together to review and respond to local needs identified through the bi-annual Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS). Using an equity lens, YHEC will identify priority focus areas to address as a collaborative. Additionally, YHEC will serve to build and sustain relationships and communication between stakeholders across the community. Finally, the YHEC also serves as the School Health Advisory Council for the MNPS 1807 CDC grant.

The College Access & Success A-Team brings school and community partners together to address the critical aspects of improving access to higher education, as well as strategies to ensure students' success in college and beyond. Newly formed in fall 2023, this group partners with the Academies of Nashville Steering Committee to create a shared, cohesive vision that ensures all students graduate prepared for college, career, and life.

The Academies of Nashville Steering Committee supports the sustainability and continuous improvement of the Academies of Nashville and monitors implementation of the Academies of Nashville strategic plan.

Created in 2008, the Academies of Nashville provide MNPS students with one of the best college and career prep experiences in the nation. Recognized by the White House as a national high school transformation model, the Academies of Nashville offer 35 different career and thematic academies across 12 zoned high schools. Whether a student is interested in pursuing a career in healthcare or engineering, every academy enhances the high school experience while preparing students with transferable skills applicable to any career field.

More than 365 community partners are committed to ensuring students gain exposure and experience within each class. Additionally, local colleges and universities provide a range of dual credit, dual enrollment, and industry credentials that prepare every student to be college or career ready.
