Description
HopeKids provides ongoing events and activities for families who have a child with cancer or other life-threatening medical condition. Each month we schedule a variety of sporting events, live entertainment, museum visits or other types of fun activities for the whole family. We focus on five research-driven impact area to ease the journey for families who are walking through the hardest time in their lives. Hope and Anticipation to keep kids looking forward to the next fun event; Family-Focused events bring the family together and prevent siblings from being unintentionally overlooked; Community and Support fosters lasting support among people who share similar challenges; Safety and Acceptance through HopeKids' safe and supportive peer community focused on inclusion; and Economic Support through free events because all families are seriously impacted by overwhelming medical costs.

Long-term Success
The long-term goal is to strengthen the family unit, help HopeKids thrive by building confidence by reducing their fears and anxiety, and by helping them cope better, and for the family to be immersed in a thriving and supportive peer community. Measuring these results help us to fulfill our vision of restoring hope and transforming the lives of the families and communities in which we serve. One of the most inspiring moments is when a child who has just been diagnosed with a particular condition meets a child who has been healed from that same condition. You can almost see their hope restored as they realize that this battle is one they can win.
Short-term Success
"Our short-term goals include:
• Give families an ongoing calendar of fun events to keep them focused on the future
• Bring families together during a difficult season
• Create a safe environment where everyone belongs
• Offer events free of charge to alleviate financial burdens
• Providing opportunities to build supportive peer relationships"

HopeKids conducts surveys of the families we serve and use the results to improve our programs and events as well as use the results for grant reporting. We also keep accurate records of attendees so we will always be able to tell you who and how many people this grant served. We are also happy to provide photos from the event. We have created our own event management system that allows us to keep accurate records of attendees so we will always be able to tell you who and how many people this grant served. Our unique event management system serves as a valuable tool for our families to easily find and sign up for events, even on their phone. It also gives us the ability to ensure that families are served in an equitable way and accurately track which events are most popular so we can better measure our success.

Description
Our HopeCommunity Program builds intimate events to bring together families who are struggling with similar diagnoses, have suffered a loss, or live in proximity to each other. With the specific intention of building community, these events focus on providing opportunities for families to deepen relationships and build a strong support network at a time when they need it most. Our community gets to know each other, encourage, and support one another. We have children who are newly diagnosed, children who are in the midst of difficult treatment, and children who are post-treatment and now healthy. One of the most inspiring moments is when a child who has just been diagnosed with a particular condition meets another child who is now healthy and post-treatment for the same condition.

We measure our total program impact by surveying our families participating in our programming events. We also periodically conduct focus groups to dive deeper into qualitative data to gain an even better understanding of what our families are going through as a result of their diagnosis and the benefits of our program to their family. We have created our own event management system that allows us to keep accurate records of attendees so we will always be able to tell you who and how many people have been served.
