CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments
Angel Heart Farm is a unique equine assisted therapy program based in Middle Tennessee, we are the only program of it's kind that serves children and their families battling cancer at no cost. Our focus in on the whole family, our belief is no one fights cancer alone and no services should have a fee to families battling cancer. We nurture not only using equine therapy but art and music therapy for the whole family. The biggest thing we hear from parents is the lack of services for their unique situation including, social services, physically and mental well being. AHF offers parents night out at the farm, these nights are designed to build a safe place and community of like individuals to bond, talk as well as heal from the trauma of having a child battling cancer . The siblings of a child battling cancer is also fostered into the program, we allow them to participate with the horses, have quiet time in barn library as well as music and art therapy . A child seeing their brother or sister ill is very traumatic for any age child. Our goal is to allow them to heal their hearts and minds during this difficult time. |
