Mission

Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life.

Background

The organization was established in 1962. Volunteers from Nashville Memorial Hospital area went door to door raising funds to build the new hospital. They held a fundraiser and established the first Volunteer Organization for the new NMH which closed years later and the new TriStar Skyline Medical Center was built. In 2000, volunteers transferred to the new hospital located at 3441 Dickerson Pike in Nashville.

Impact

We gave out several student medical scholarships to area high school seniors pursuing a college career in some form of the medical field. We hope to give out 3 or more next fiscal year. We established a program to give a hand made blanket to patients on their birthday who are in the hospital. We also started a new program to give a new mother and father a hand-made baby blanket set when they deliver their baby under an emergent situation in our trauma center. Next year we hope to work on supporting children of service men and women at the holidays. We gave a nursing scholarship to Alive Hospice, Marten Methodist Nursing College, Austin Peay Nursing School and a scholarship to an adult returning to some form of a medical career at Volunteer State Community College.

CEO Statement

We are the largest volunteer segment in all of the TriStar Hospitals independently owned and operated by Skyline Auxiliary Non-profit 501(c)3 business. Skyline Auxiliary owns and operates the hospital Gift Shoppe and profits go to worthy causes...charitable causes.

Board Chair Statement

We are passionate about giving our scholarships to students going in to some form of the medical field. In addition, we help our patients in need and give to causes we are passionate about such as the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Assoc.
