The CGR Back-to-School Bash began in 2020 as a part of our CGR Youth Development Initiative in response to the negative economic impact that the COVID-19 pandemic had on the Greater Nashville community. It is now an annual event during which we solicit community sponsors and volunteers to fill thousands of backpacks with school supplies. Beyond school supplies, we also distribute diapers, baby wipes, dental and personal hygiene products, socks, and cleaning supplies.
In 2021, with the help of generous community partners and volunteers, we distributed more than 3,000 backpacks across nine locations in Middle Tennessee. And in 2022, we tripled distribution and provided more than 10,000 backpacks to the community.
In 2022, CGR collaborated specifically with MNPS to provide 3,000 backpacks directly to middle and high schools in need, and we hosted a B2S Bash event in the Napier community where we distributed even more backpacks to the families in that community!

The CGR Master Class is our core program designed to offer a safe community space for young girls (Ages 6+) and women to learn and engage in arts and crafts, artistic design, visual arts and empowerment workshops to explore their emotions, develop self-awareness, cope with stress, anxiety and boost self-esteem.
The CGR Master Class is also used as a therapeutic outlet for participants to help with overall work-life balance. Creative expression provides a sense of fulfillment and restorative health, and we have seen through our classes that young girls and women are seeking these types of artistic outlets to help with mental health and wellness.
This program is free for all participants unless an exclusive workshop is offered. All workshops are operated on a first come, first serve basis by registering for a workshop. To sign up for one of our workshops, please check out our upcoming events.

Testimonials:
I want to say thank you for the amazing class you hosted on last evening. My daughter loved the experience and is looking forward to the next class. It warmed my heart to see her in that space last night. The amount of care and thought put into the boxes and the overall class was outstanding.
"Very therapeutic."
I really enjoyed my time during the CGR Master Class. Working 40+ hours a week and taking care of family; husband and children can get a bit overwhelming at times. This workshop provided an outlet for me to embrace myself and a sense of relaxation. Thank you Charmin for using your God-given talents to bless our community.
"This is such a great concept! I love what you are doing with your organization!!!"
It was fun to hang out & get to know the other ladies. I enjoyed learning a new skill/ craft. I've never taken the time to try to distress my denim before. In the past, I just purchased that particular style from the store.
