Description
The Buchanan Arts Emerging Artist Fellowship is a year-long work-study experience designed for recent graduates, early-career artists, entrepreneurs or creative thinkers who wish to develop their practices while working to support the operations of Buchanan Arts. The goal of this program is to encourage creative development, facilitate professional opportunities, foster experimentation, and create connections that will carry participants into the next chapter of their careers. Artists and creative entrepreneurs of all backgrounds who wish to enhance their skill-sets and learn more about a community-based arts non-profit are encouraged to apply.

Staffed by volunteers, the Buchanan Arts Community Garden produces food, flowers, and art materials for Buchanan Arts programming and the surrounding community.

Description
We are currently offering adult continuing ed classes in ceramics/pottery (3 classes) and will introduce additional classes in 2022 in sculpture and collage (4 classes total). These are offered at a variety of times to accommodate work schedules of our students, with financial aid available to those in need. Highly qualified artists/teachers from the Nashville community are paid $1500 per 8-week course and in an effort to minimize costs to the students provided a $500 budget for materials. We are also currently running a series of weekend workshops in specific studio art topics/processes, with financial aid available to interested students as well.
