Mission

The Tennessee Pharmacists Research and Education Foundation exists to advance the practice of pharmacy through research and education.

Background

Founded in 1990, the Tennessee Pharmacists Research and Education Foundation (TPREF) exists to advance the practice of pharmacy through research and education. Through the Tennessee Pharmacists Research and Education Foundation (TPREF), pharmacists and pharmacy professionals have been afforded many opportunities to create, innovate, and advance pharmacy practice through patient-focused grants and educational programs. TPREF currently administers more than $1 million in grants and programs solely focused on improving patient outcomes and advancing pharmacy practice. TPREF is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt research and educational organization and a direct subsidiary of TPA.

Impact

Every year, the TPREF utilizes its resources to increase patient access to pharmacist-provided patient care services through various activities. TPREF strives to enhance the knowledge, ethics, and skills of pharmacists through delivery of education and training. The organization's goal is to improve the standard of care for pharmacist-provided patient care through grants, research activities, and educational programs.

Needs

The Tennessee Pharmacists Research Foundation supports pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, student pharmacists, and the Tennessee community. Our most pressing needs this year are as follows:

1. Currently, TPREF's "Building Tennessee's Pharmacy Future" campaign is raising necessary funds to transform the potential of the Tennessee Pharmacists Association into reality, through the purchase and renovation of the Center for Tennessee Pharmacy. Creating a home for Tennessee pharmacy professionals.

2. Providing training and education for pharmacy professionals.

3. Support for pharmacy professionals in recovery.

4. Finances to support TPREF programs and educational resources.

5. Volunteers to lead TPREF programs and education.
