We believe in a future where every kid who goes to any school has a positive and successful learning experience. We must develop leaders who run schools that work for every child- where students belong, where they learn, and where their voice matters. PIVOT: School Improvement Leaders prepares leaders who are:
-High performing, with deep technical knowledge base
-Innovative thinkers who understand the demands of 21st century education
-Optimistic, inspiring, people that others believe in and want to follow
-Empathetic, self-aware, believes in the potential and perspective of others
-Resilient, gritty, and energized by complex challenges
To develop these leaders, we imagine a program with the following components:
--Targeted, Tailored Learning:
-Summer institute:
-Monthly meetings
-Ongoing assessment
-Individualized coaching
--Perspective Building.
-School visits
-Case studies
-Empathy interviews
--360 Alignment
-Clear program / contract expectations
-Regular reporting / reflection

Our leaders will stay longer than leaders at other comparable schools in their districts and states. We want to focus on the idea of doubling average leader tenure- moving from 2 to 4 years. Potential goal: 80% of our leaders stay in their schools for 4 or more years. The nuance and complexity inherent in this potential goal is a challenge given the many reasons that people leave.
