Description
Nashville Emerging Leaders (NEL), the city's first and most prestigious leadership development program of its kind, has announced its Class of 2023. The group includes 29 of the top professionals from the private sector, civic and government, and nonprofit organizations.

The 11-week personal and professional leadership training program brings together the top minds across diverse backgrounds and perspectives working to shape Nashville's future. The program includes interactive exercises, issue exploration, self-assessments, community participation, group projects and in-depth discussions with Middle Tennessee's top community and business leaders. The program lasts from mid February and culminates with graduation on May 6th. Applications for the 2024 class will be available in Fall of 2023.
Program Successes
NEL is primarily volunteer run with a Board of Directors committed to its long term success. Alumni support the program through donations and volunteerism. The community of advocates supporting the program are indicative of program that serves the needs of the community and creates investment and buy in from those who participate.

Long-term Success
Nashville Emerging Leaders is nearing its 20th anniversary in 2024. The program was begun to support and celebrate the success of emerging leaders in Middle TN so that they might invest and serve the Nashville community with the proper tools in place. After nearly 20 years there are alumni in every sector in the community, contributing to their workplaces, serving on Boards, volunteering, and contributing the overall success and advancement of the Nashville community.
Short-term Success
As of May 6th 2023, NEL celebrates its 19th class of emerging professionals. It's the most diverse class in the history of NEL from a broad spectrum of backgrounds, life experience, identities, and interests.
Program Success Monitored By
Program success is monitored by the graduation rate of the program which is 11 weeks long. With so many competing priorities, the Nashville Emerging Leaders program is investment of time, talent, and energy for each participant. The completion rate of the program is an indication that people find it successful and meaningful to their lives.
