Description
Our early childhood program is designed to make early childhood education and childcare available to all in Nashville and its surrounding areas.
At Equally Created, our value of Equality is front and center. We pride ourselves in understanding that all people are created equal and we will treat each other with dignity and respect regardless of our differences. With Empathy, we are proud to say that we offer all children an opportunity to see and understand our unique differences; learn to appreciate them; and develop empathy at a young age. To create an atmosphere of equality and empathy, we are doing our best to make enrollment in Equally Created accessible to everyone-from ALL walks of life!
We are working with government funding for families who qualify and also offer a sliding scale for fees based on each family's salary. In addition, we grant scholarships to families who are working to get further assistance with their childcare fees.
Program Successes
An example of program success would be seeing a child who entered our center with a background of trauma be able to regulate their emotions and continue their participation with their class when they could not do so when they first began.
Another example of program success would be a balanced budget with enough income each month to cover our expenses.
A big success for Equally Created would be to reach the percentages we are aiming for with 60% participation by families unable to pay full tuition and 50% of enrollment to be children of color.
Category
Education - Early Childhood Education
Beneficiaries
Infants and Toddlers
Long-term Success
The long-term success of Equally Created would be to open multiple early childhood education/childcare centers to help alleviate the massive lack of quality childcare in our area. We would serve as many families as possible from all different walks of life. We would have at least 60% of our enrollment with families who are unable to pay full price tuition. We would also serve a diverse population with at least 50% of our enrollment being children of color.
Short-term Success
The short-term success of Equally Created is to secure funding to offset the loss of revenue we face each month due to the acceptance of the state voucher program and the reduced fees due to the sliding scale for tuition. If we are able to secure funding, our focus and resources can be placed on the day to day work we do with the children and building more centers rather than the constant need for fundraising.
Program Success Monitored By
Our program success will be monitored by the difference we see in the life of the families who attend Equally Created as that is our most important task at hand. We will also be able to monitor our success based on our monthly balance sheet as well as the percentages of under resourced children and children of color we have enrolled.
