Description
Started in 2018, Kindling Arts Festival has been called the "Best Summer Arts Festival" by the Nashville Scene (2021). The 4-day Festival showcases performing artists working in dance, theater, comedy, circus, music, multimedia, and interdisciplinary projects in traditional theatrical spaces as well as unexpected pop-up locations. The Festival is usually held in the late summer (end of July or beginning of August) at a time when most performing arts institutions are inactive. Kindling provides producing and marketing support for all Festival projects alongside free creative feedback and developmental support to the Festival projects. Responding to the need to make space for underrepresented voices and aesthetics, the annual Kindling Arts Festival has become one of the most vital resources for independent artists in the region, providing a supportive opportunity to premiere innovative work free of financial obligations and logistical obstacles.
