Background
The Aloe Family: Empowering Latin communities through education and job skills training. Founded in 2022, we address the educational challenges faced by immigrant and refugee populations in Nashville. We provide resources, homework help, and empower parents. Expanding to San Luis, Mexico, we continue to make a lasting impact. As a nonprofit, we collaborate, listen, and tailor our efforts to the community's needs in a sustainable and empowering way. Education: Immigrant and refugee children in Nashville faced significant educational challenges, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Expansion to San Luis, Mexico: Drawing upon our founder Natalie Hennessy Firkser's personal connection to the region, The Aloe Family expanded its impact to San Luis, Mexico. Building upon our successes in Nashville, we have applied our expertise and experience to uplift individuals, families, and neighborhoods in this community. By leveraging our collective experiences, cultural understanding, and passion for change, we have fostered enduring transformation, improving livelihoods, and creating sustainable progress.

Board Chair Statement
Dear Global Givers'
I first began work with the Aloe Family as an enthusiastic volunteer - my real estate team and I boarded a plane, and then another plane, and then a 5 hour bus ride into Mexico with the hopes of making a real difference. We spent a long week laying brick, running electrical wires, and really getting to know the people we were helping. The impact we made was tangible, and the feeling of giving back was unmatched. Now, after so many more trips, bringing back repeat volunteers and excited newcomers, I cannot begin to express my gratitude for the Aloe Family in giving me this opportunity to truly help the lives of those in need.
It has been my great honor to serve as the Chairwoman of the Board for the Aloe Family Foundation. Our board has worked tirelessly in helping our organization build, grow, and make the most substantial impact possible. Our focus on providing opportunity to lift oneself up is paramount; while charity is always positive, creating the circumstances for an individual to build their own better life is essential.
The impact of the work that the Aloe Family Foundation does reverberates far beyond the week spent on the ground. We have created safe spaces for parents with special needs children, built an auto garage and taught the ins-and-outs of running a mechanic business, and rebuilt disaster torns homes so that its owner could in turn help his community. Your contributions to our organization will be magnified many times over, with the potential to change the lives of entire families, neighborhoods, and even generations. We cannot do this without you, and are so grateful to have you as a partner in our mission in building a thriving future for all.
