Trevor's Experience: Experience volunteering in many nonprofit settings, holistic/natural health/wellness settings, environmental activity settings, and academic leadership/faculty settings. Currently, I am a Holistic Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner among other things (Limo driver for my own company, rideshare driver, art jeweler, musician, registered Commodity Trading Advisor, performer in a Tribal Drum Group, and "DJ" on a local nonprofit community radio station that streams globally. I began acting as a nurse before I officially made this a nonprofit organization, simply because creating a 501c3 took more time than I had available for the disaster relief care I was providing. Taking my knowledge from 4 academic degrees (two graduate), and work experience from a variety of disciplines and fields, I'm now directing this organization into the future- still staying in the present moments/events, however.
While I'm, after discussion, checking the "None of these apply" box today, Aug 7, 2023 on the question about Black-Led, Black Benefitting, I do hereby wish to state for clarification that WE SERVE "Black Indians" some of whom qualify as connected to Federal Tribes as "Freedmen Descendants", even if not members & excluded by Federal Tribes & not officially recognized for a variety of reasons. Additionally, regardless of what anyone thinks my skin tone is/should be (my skin tone changes a lot throughout the year), I am Appalachian Melungeon (white, Native, African-descent, plus Iberian and of other multiracial groups such as Pasqaq, Pasqatank Indians); Thus, I am of "Black/African Descent" Melungeon, stating it herein, as the US Census Bureau is changing race/ethnic categories after which this form/query field's changes are being discussed. Since I do not AS strongly have people I can point to, very-recent paperwork of lineage, nor as much culture practices of solely-African heritage, Im not "Black". Im a member of the multiracial Saponi-Catawba Nation, w/ Black Indians, though. |
