CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments
AGAPE and Morning Star Sanctuary (MSS), one of only two emergency domestic violence shelters in Davidson County, have combined resources as one non-profit serving the Middle Tennessee community. As one non-profit, AGAPE will serve more than 3,500 individuals annually through foster care and adoption services, professional counseling and through court advocacy and emergency shelter services for victims of domestic violence. For more than a year, the Board of Directors for both nonprofits, in consultation with the Center for Nonprofit Management, completed a process of due diligence that led the decision by both governing boards for AGAPE to adopt the Morning Star Sanctuary Domestic Violence Shelter and Court Advocacy Program. On July 1, 2018, in accordance with the guidelines of the Attorney General's Office and the Office of the Secretary of State of Tennessee, the program adoption and merger of MSS into AGAPE became official. |
