Mission
Holly Street Daycare is a 3 Star-Quality childcare facility dedicated to working with parents and reflecting the diversity of the community to provide exceptional and affordable childcare which meets the social, emotional, physical and cognitive needs of each enrolled child.
Background
Holly Street Day Care Center was founded in 1983 in response to a growing need for quality childcare in the East Nashville community; an area once considered a "blighted slum area" by the Federal Government. Holly Street took this characterization and made it a foundation to build upon, by working with the area churches and other organizations to improve the area surrounding the center. We were Nationally Accredited in 1993, became a United Way agency in 1999 and a 3 Star Rate Center in 2002. In keeping with the community, Holly Street has become home to a culturally and financially diverse group of children and families. Holly Street has grown tremendously in the last several years and has expanded its services to include a summer camp program, before and after school care, dance, field trips and music. Holly Street is committed to be a driving force in promoting continuing improvement in its East Nashville community and is involved in a number of community-related and outreach programs. Holly Street Day Care Center recognizes that it takes not only parents and family, but also teachers and the community to help a child develop and grow in today's society. We strive to maintain a mixture of race, ethnic groups, and income levels. Only through diversity will children learn to get along together and respect each other.
