TJC has engaged in a capital campaign to raise funds for the acquisition and renovation of a permanent office space for TJC. The chosen location is 155 Lafayette Street, a derelict liquor store across from the J.C. Napier Homes, a legacy public housing project that is surrounded by some of the most concentrated poverty in the city. This location will advance TJC's justice mission by enabling TJC, through the "power of proximity", to learn from and be inspired by those we serve. Since its inception, TJC has kept its overhead low by occupying the cheapest office space available in proximity to the courts, legislature, and government offices. We have moved from one space to another, regularly being displaced as buildings were renovated and rents increased beyond what we could afford.
Working from home during the pandemic reinforced the idea that there is an energy and synergy which can only be achieved by working together in a common space. TJC is at its best when staff, clients, and volunteers can work together and feed each other's excitement, energy, and creativity. Our space is an important element in our training and mentoring of our volunteers, interns, and full-time fellows.

Foundation Staff Comments
Financial figures are taken from the audit and 990. In some years, foundation and corporate grants may be included in Contributions, Gifts, and Grants sum, as these amounts are not separated in Form 990. In some years, schedule B removed to protect donor privacy. Financial audit and Form 990 do not reconcile. Financial documents completed by Novogradac & Company, LLP.
