Allison's Experience: Dr. Quintanilla Plattsmier was born and raised in Nashville, TN where she attended Hume-Fogg Academic Magnet High School. After graduating with honors, she completed her undergraduate degree in only three years and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a B.S. in Political Science: Public Administration and Nonprofit Management and a minor in Entrepreneurship. She went on to receive her M.Ed. in Community Development and Action from Vanderbilt University's Peabody College and then her Doctorate of Education in Leadership and Professional Practice from Trevecca Nazarene University. She conducted her dissertation on the effects of age and gender discrimination on hiring, upward mobility, and retention in the nonprofit sector. She also completed an Elite Masters of Business Administration in four months through Quantic School of Business and Technology and has received numerous professional certifications across a wide range of competencies. Allison has twelve years of experience in the nonprofit sector, has worked with over 50 organizations, and raised approximately $4 million. She has been at the forefront of issues such as the affordable housing crisis, transit referendum, and the city's urban planning and infrastructure design through the creation of Nashville's first art park, William Edmondson Park. A sought-after DEI practitioner, she is a vocal advocate for gender parity, closing the wage gap, and ending the motherhood penalty. With accolades such as Nashville's Top 30 Under 30, NBJ's 40 Under 40, Diversity MBA's Top 100 Under 50 Executive Leaders, the Association of Fundraising Professionals' 2018 Outstanding Young Fundraising Professional, the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance's Certified Nonprofit Professional of the Year- Emerging Leader, and the National Association of Female Executives' 2019 Rising Star, Dr. Quintanilla Plattsmier is a true leader in the Middle Tennessee community. |
