CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments

The quality of talent and level of professionalism amongst Nashville Opera's board volunteers represents the best in the city. The company long ago established active board committees for oversight in all areas of business operations.

The Executive Committee consists of committee chairs and at large members with strong expertise in key areas. The staff, VP of Finance, and Finance Committee maintain weekly cash flow projections for the current and two subsequent years for active management of income and expenses.

The Governance Committee ensures diversity in leadership, community representation and expertise.

The Development Committee works closely with the Executive and Development staff to ensure NOA meets its goals.

The NOA Board of Directors and Staff have set a course to manage the challenging economic landscape while cultivating the artistic reputation that has garnered international praise.

The Company's strategic goals are to: expand, excite and engage our audiences and community to establish the value of the opera; secure the resources necessary to accomplish our goals; align all activities to maximize effectiveness of the organization and return on investment; maximize the potential of the Noah Liff Opera Center; produce highest quality productions and programs that make a difference.

The annual plan includes specific benchmarks for each goal. At the end of the year all benchmarks for the past year and the two upcoming years are reviewed, evaluated and revised by the Staff and Board. Nashville Opera's Company Values, as part of our strategic plan, reflect our dedication to planning, evaluation and transformation.
