The mission of the Time to Rise organization is to provide at-risk youth with the proper guidance, summer structure, and year round academic support to improve their life chances through academic excellence and character development.
Background
History: Time to Rise Inc. was established as a public /private partnership in 1992. The mission of the organization is to provide at-risk youth with the proper guidance, summer structure, and year round academic support to improve their life chances through academic excellence and character development. Since 1992, Time to Rise has operated summer academic and enrichment camps in conjunction with four independent schools in Nashville: Montgomery Bell Academy, Harpeth Hall, Ensworth School, and Harding Academy. Historically, Time to Rise has served students in the Nashville community in grades 4-6.
Impact
To improve life chances of at-risk youth; To strengthen basic academic skills of at-risk youth; To train student counselors to help empower at-risk youth; To operate 4 summer academic and enrichment camps for at-risk youth.
Needs
$5,000,000 endowment to sustain the program for years to come; Additional staff for winter programming; Transportation vehicles; Extended program for students when they leave Time to Rise; Year round academic curriculum.
