CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments
We have a very strong and talented Board of Directors this year, including several members with extensive business background and executive experience. We recognize that the ongoing strength of our organization relies heavily on an effective, engaged, passionate, and enthusiastic board. Therefore, we are constantly engaged in identifying and mentoring members for future board positions. Also, we are on the lookout for potential members in the community that are not only workers, but potential leaders. This is done by reaching out to those we know, creating awareness of Assistance League of Nashville in the community by using various social media tools, speaking to church and school groups, and educating our donors and fundraiser attendees about our work in Metro Nashville Public Schools. Another challenge is to raise more funds. We have ambitious goals regarding the number of children we serve with our Operation School Bell programs. The costs of the clothing and hygiene products we purchase continue to rise. In early 2024, we engaged the services of a contract grant writer to enable us to find more sources of grants to submit. We also started a second fundraiser in the Spring to augment our revenues. We are continuing to search for ways to strengthen and enlarge our donor base. |
