Description
The Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra performs a series of 8 concerts each season, with 4 different programs of symphonic repertoire. All NPO concerts are free and open to the public, and the NPO has a tradition tradition of performing in many different parts of the city - in churches, community centers, schools, and libraries associated with persons of varied cultural backgrounds. Past venues have included the Nashville Korean United Methodist Church, Casa de Dios USA, Glenview Elementary School, Cameron College Preparatory, First Apostolic Church, Plaza Mariachi, the Gordon Jewish Community Center, Cathedral of Praise, St. George's Episcopal Church, and Belmont University's McAfee Concert Hall.

Description
Each year, the NPO sponsors a concerto competition, open to amateur musicians who are residents of Middle Tennessee. Winners in the Adult and Young Adult categories receive a cash prize and are invited to perform with the Nashville Philharmonic as part of the regular concert season.

Description
Begun in 2013, the Nashville Philharmonic Composition Competition invites submissions of recent orchestral compositions from Middle Tennessee amateur composers. Winners will receive a cash prize and a performance of their work by the NPO.
