Description
The Independent Support Coordination (ISC) service provides service coordination to approximately 280 individuals throughout Middle TN counties. Working with individuals, families and provider agencies, using a person centered approach to develop home, residential, day and community programs that meet each person's unique needs and interests. The program operates under the policies and guidelines of the TN Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (DIDD). This program also provides services through the TennCare Employment and Community First CHOICES program.

The Children's Center for Autism's mission is to help young children with Autism Spectrum Disorders in South Central Middle Tennessee realize their full potential through individualized and collaborative treatment. The CCA provides individualized intervention in a structured setting for children ages 18 months through twelve years old addressing communication, social skills, school readiness skills, and behavioral concerns. All services provided are based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. We hold the belief that for skills to be truly meaningful to a child's life they must be able to be used in more than one setting, and therefore parent/family training is a key component of this program.

Approximately 650 infants and toddlers with a qualifying disability and/or developmental delay receive early intervention services each year through the Child Development Center program. In-person and/or virtual services are provided within the child and family's natural environment, including within their home or child care program. Parents and other caregivers are active participants in all intervention services as degreed CDC staff coach parents as they discover ways to incorporate learning opportunities into their daily routines and activities. The early intervention program in each county is part of an interagency community which provides a collaborative approach to addressing the needs of young children and their families.

Family Support provides flexible support services to over 200 families in six counties: Bedford, Coffee, Franklin, Lincoln, Marshall and Moore. Services include home modifications, specialized equipment, respite care, and medical travel reimbursement. A Council of ten members oversees the approval eligibility process and allocates funding, while a coordinator implements the program. There were 49 individuals removed from the waiting list in 2022 and provided services, 5 of which received supports due to local funding support. Natural resources and referrals to community services are incorporated into the support management.

The CDC Employment Services program started in 2018 to serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are interested in working in their community. This program receives referrals through the TN Department of Rehabilitation Services. This program offers the guidance, training, coaching, and support needed to be successful. The program staff work with community leaders and businesses to educate on the benefits of employing individuals with all abilities. This program also provides Pre-Employment Transition Services to students ages 14-21 in high school and middle school.
