AHR has constructed over 1,300 affordable homes and assisted over 15,000 low income homebuyers purchase their first home. - 1978-1987 - Director of The Navigators, Dept. of University Chaplins, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee. - 1975-1976 - Carpenter's Apprentice, Stonedge, Lookout Mountain, Tennessee - 1974-1975 - Teacher, East Lake Junior High, Chattanooga, Tennessee ACCOMPLISHMENTS: - Chairman of Tennessee Housing and Development Agency's Board of Directors - Board Chairman of National NeighborWorks Association- Brought the Congressionally Chartered Neighborhood Reinvestment Corp. to Nashville. - Established nationally recognized Section 8 to HomeOwnership program in partnership with MDHA and NRC. - Steering Committee of National Campaign for HomeOwnership. - Member of Fannie Mae's State Advisory Committee. - Led AHR's growth from $2.3M to over $13M from 1997-2003; - Board member of the Nashville Rotary Club. - Member of the Middle Tennessee Home Builders Association. - Chair of the Mayor's Task Force for Affordable Housing, 1999. - Chair of the Low Income Housing Forum, 1999. - 1988 - Founded The Resource Foundation, Inc. (originally the Nashville Resource Foundation) - Raised capital funding from banks for construction, development, acquisition, and mortgages for 20 subdivisions, over 600 scattered single family homes and 4 apartments. - Recruiting church and civic group volunteers to build and finance many homes. - Served on the Metro Housing Development Agency's Fannie May Loan Committee. - Served twice on the United Way's Task Force on Affordable Housing. - 1990 & 1992 Fannie Mae Maxwell Award of Excellence in Affordable Housing Finalist for the 12 Avenue Apartment and the Germantown Apartments for the Mentally Ill. - Regional Technical Assistance Advisor to the RTC for Affordable Housing. |
