Mission
The mission of Doing Good is to educate and engage communities by promoting and celebrating 'Doing Good' through volunteerism.. The vision of Doing Good is to be the conduit to educate and inspire cultural shifts toward community volunteerism. The 'big idea' is to equip nonprofit agencies nationwide with marketing and public relations so each can more effectively and efficiently achieve its mission.
Doing Good has been providing marketing and public relations tools and opportunities and will continue to do so. It is also starting to develop online education to equip the nonprofit professionals in marketing and public relations.
Background
Doing Good began as an idea - an answer to a need for positive information. From one person with an idea to hundreds of one-on-one meetings, the idea quickly evolved into a community project. It was in these meetings where local residents suggested the idea to become a nonprofit. Doing Good began serving Davidson County, expanded to serve the 14-county area of Middle Tennessee, and recently opened its virtual doors to serve agencies across the country.
Impact
Doing Good has served nearly 300 unique agencies with over 400 services. All have been provided at no cost. The biggest accomplishment in 2020 was its decision to open its virtual doors to serve agencies throughout the country. The biggest accomplishment in 2021 was launching its podcast. The biggest accomplishment in 2022 will be to hire its first staff person. Until then, Doing Good, continues to be run 100% by passionate volunteers who are 100% remote.
Needs
The single, most pressing need for Doing Good is its first staff person to manage volunteers and fundraise. Doing Good already actively participates in the Kroger program and AmazonSmiles, yet is actively seeking sponsorships, grant funding and individual donations to allow this young non-profit to serve more agencies more effectively.
CEO Statement
At this time more than ever, people are seeking positivity and inspiration. Doing Good shares volunteers' stories to educate and inspire. A diversity of volunteers is highlighted as well as a diversity of their causes and how they volunteer. We are proud Doing Good serves agencies by sharing their volunteers' stories through audio, visual and written formats.
Board Chair Statement
Doing Good is an act of passion and love of many. It is fully operational thanks to skills-based volunteers who each serve remotely. They are proactive, take initiative, provide follow through and choose to share their skill and talent to bring attention to universal role models - volunteers.
