Mission

The mission of BENCHMARK Adventure Ministries is to stimulate significant life change toward wholeness in Christ through interactive experiences and outdoor adventures.

Background

BENCHMARK Adventure Ministries began as a spiritual growth and leadership development organization utilizing primarily adventure as the means to improved relational community. The ideas of personal responsibility, regular reflection (processing, evaluation) and the need to refocus on the next best (more effective, potentially effective, life changing) step has been three keys ideas which continue to guide our daily service.

As a completely mobile ministry, we offer flexibility by providing a wider range of location options to meet our clients where they are and to take them to where they need to go. This stretches BENCHMARK's leadership to develop experiences utilizing the available resources in locations near our groups. For BENCHMARK, a city park, local church field or rented camp facility is as much a reasonable and potentially effective location as a convention ballroom or the Appalachian Trail.

Impact

For over 12 years BENCHMARK has supported the ministry of U.S. Army Chaplains providing a professional planning support, skilled leadership and resilience training through 1-3-day adventure events to serve the Soldiers they serve. Most recently we partner with 12-15 Chaplains per year implementing multiple ministry events for their units.
2021 - 26 events partnering with 14 Chaplains
2022 - 37 events partnering with 15 Chaplains
2023 - 24 events partnering with 14 Chaplains

Needs

1. Increase our Board of Directors membership to 6 voting members. 2. Develop our Board of Directors committee structure for greater organizational effectiveness. 3. Increase our reach to 25 ministry events serving 950 participants. 4. Maintain financial stability with a minimum of 6 months of operating expenses in cash reserves with $0 long-term debt.

BENCHMARK is a mobile people development organization custom designing experiences in a wide range of location, predominantly in the southeastern United States. BENCHMARK has also worked with groups in Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington, Washington DC and West Virginia.
