BENCHMARK predominately collaborates with schools, churches, military, other nonprofits and corporations to design thoughtful, purposeful interesting adventures and team building events. These events are planned to meet the needs of specific groups based on predetermined goals, objectives and general activities. We design experiences for just about any group, just about anywhere. We can partner with corporate teams, mission teams, ministry and service groups, youth groups and all kinds of non-profit groups and teams. Our ministry opportunities can benefit middle school, high school, and college groups, as well as other adult groups of all ages. Since we're a mobile ministry, we can develop these experiences in a variety of traditional and non-traditional settings, at camps, schools, retreats or other venues based on the needs and location of the group or organization.

During the spring each year, an average of 35 people a day begin the 2194 mile, 6-month journey to hike the entire Appalachian Trail. Beginning at Springer Mountain in north Georgia, 15% of those who start quit their first week and in the first 30 miles. In an effort to minister to people in this rugged setting, BENCHMARK Adventure Ministries offers volunteers an outreach opportunity to be a presence in Christ's name along those beginning miles of the Appalachian Trail. We meet people where they are, and where they don't expect us. We base camp establishing a pop-up cafe, day hike on the trail meeting hikers, offering encouragement along the challenging journey. We pass out apples, tend first aid needs, provide moleskin for blisters, share God's Word and pray with those who will let us.

Description
Using the classic outdoor activity of backpacking, this fall adventure provides participants a guided experience to share life together, explore creation and take on a demanding challenge. Training and then hiking creates a mobile assessment. Where have I been? What have I done? Where am I; body, mind and spirit? Where is God leading? It's a demanding hike with incredible rewards. Since 1994 BENCHMARK has planned the intense, high-mileage Chuck Wilson Memorial Backpack for BENCHMARK covering 42-50 miles in a long weekend. Not only are these hikes an opportunity to explore personal potential but also a means to financially support BENCHMARK by gaining sponsors for their hike, raising much needed operational funds primarily supporting out Chaplains Partnership Initiative.
