Mission

A faith-based 501(c)3 non-profit outreach ministry, providing spiritual, educational, vocational resources and lifestyle training in the "inner city" of Nashville, TN.

Background

Our organization was birthed through the vision of Antuan J. Foxx. After spending much of his like trapped in cycles of depression, hurt, pain ( both physical and emotional), he had an encounter with the Lord. Mr. Foxx had been running his entire life up to this point from God's call and purpose for him. Once he made the choice to surrender his heart, he was shown how to break the cycles he had been stuck in. Mr. Foxx started with building his emotional health first, then moved on to his physical health and finally building his spiritual health.

God showed him his purpose was to teach others in his communities to do the same thing. The first community he felt led to serve is the James Cayce community. He grew up in that community and knows all to well the obstacles faced . As that community is being transformed and transitioned by the city of Nashville, Mr. Foxx learned that most residents were failing in the transition part. Simply because they couldn't break the cycles they were stuck in and the bad habits and generational curses that had been passed down. Through faith and personal determination and motivation Mr. Foxx wants to help the James Cayce community to move forward as smoothly as possible and build a better life for the current generation and the one ahead.

Impact

Top Goals:
1. Have 2 -3 events for the James Cayce Community.
2. Start first program, Manhood 101.
3. Get our first grant for the non-profit.

Needs

Right now we need the following:
1. At least 3 more people to serve on the board of directors.
2. We need to hold our first event which had to be postponed due to Covid-19,
3. We need help from the community & resident leaders with finding out what is the communities most pressing need at this time and to work with us.
4. We need to raise at least $10,000 in funds to get started with the launch of our programs - Manhood 101, Womanhood 101 and Familyhood 101.
5. We need to get our nonprofit established this year in the Nashville area.

CEO Statement

Many people are stuck in yesterday, confused about today and have no sense of tomorrow. In every family, history repeats itself and creates a generational cycle of patterns which can include depression, alcoholism, drug addiction, abuse, dependency and abandonment, which can affect you today. Only through the grace of God was I able to break the stronghold of generational cycles in my life. Jesus healed and removed all the pain of my past, filled me with courage, peace and a sense of purpose. Now I can share with others that promise and live each day free from pain. I want others to know how they can do the same .

I really want to help those in the James Cayce community to break the cycle that has been passed down from generation to generation as a start. I grew up in the area and now that they are in transition I want to give them the tools to make it a smooth transition and keep them from self sabotaging due to the various cycles you can find yourself in.

Board Chair Statement

As the board President, the challenges I see facing us at this particular time is getting enough people to come on board with our organization. Currently we have 2 people on the board. We are looking to expand it to have more people to help us carry the mission and vision of Breaking Cycles Ministry.
