Description
Sam's Caregiver Alliance Group will have Caregiver Support Group meetings that provide a safe environment for Caregivers and the community to share their thoughts, experiences and expressions, assimilate knowledge about various resources and bring forth Mental Health professionals and area non-profit organizations to discuss the importance of quality of life for the Caregiver and their loved one. This activity will provide Caregivers, future Caregivers and advocates with the support they need to nurture their capabilities, creativity and backgrounds while stimulating their desires to being a productive, loving, caring Caregiver and Advocate. The Caregivers will be able to network with others that share in this journey and find a sense of peace and serenity during this difficult transition of life. The Caregiver Support Group meetings will be held once a quarter on Saturdays or Sundays during a two-hour time span.
Program Successes

Sam's Caregiver Alliance Group's Kindness with Care initiative will also provide funds for respite, medical expenses and personal expenses. Getting respite allows time for caregivers to take a break from providing care for their loved one to focus on their own personal health and needs while helping to preserve the strength of families. Distributing these funds is essential for getting caregivers relief from everyday responsibilities, provide support for monthly expenses, respite and mental health therapy sessions. The funds will be collected by the use of fundraisers, crowdfunding campaigns, donations and grants. We are looking to disburse 200 $100 one-time payment vouchers per year at a cost of $20,000.

Description
Sam's Caregiver Alliance Group will start a program called Music for the Mind. It encourages caregivers to play music and dance with their loved ones on a regular basis. Music Therapy for people with Dementia, has been shown to improve their thinking, feeling, perception, mood and behavior. Once a year we will have an event with music that encourages a safe dance environment for people with Dementia or any disability. Music can be used in so many ways and for so many purposes in Dementia therapy. The music itself can actually transport these patients to a happier place and ease the anxiety and agitation they live with on a daily basis. Benefits of music therapy for Dementia patients may include:
*Calm someone who's restless or uncomfortable
*Increased social interaction and engagement with other residents and staff members. This allows more meaningful relationships and less time working through behavioral issues.
*A more relaxed and calm mood throughout the day and better sleep patter
