| In the development of the board for Global Sanctuary for Elephants, we wanted to ensure that the individuals who were making the decisions for the organization, fully understood the implications these decisions would have on the elephants. The result is a board that not only contains individuals with different backgrounds and skills, but also a board that is comprised of individuals who are incredibly educated about elephants, the impact captivity has on them, and their overall welfare. To encompass the global aspect of our governance and function, GSE has also established an advisory board comprised of individuals from around the globe that bring varying knowledge and skills to the organization. While making decisions that benefit the organization as a business, we have also ensured the primary focus remains the elephants. |
