CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments

NeedLink Nashville celebrates more than a century of service to the community of Nashville. We've come a long way since 1912, when the first Big Brothers cared for families living in tin shanties along the railroad gulch, by delivering coal, heating oil and food. We are still working to provide for very basic needs in Nashville, even as our society grows. Our biggest challenge is engaging our city in our mission and traditions. Native Nashvillians are well aware of the great work that the Big Brothers has done over the years, but we are challenged with involving a new generation in making our city a better place. Our new name, NeedLink Nashville, adopted in 2010 was the first step toward building our future. It gives us a unique identity, which allows us to share our mission with more people and provides a better understanding of how we help with our clients' needs and guide them to other important resources in the community. We are also growing our Board of Directors and invite local leaders with a passion for our mission to talk with us about serving on our board or one of our committees. We need volunteers for a variety of projects, and encourage anyone to share their talents to help our neighbors in need.
