Mission
The mission of United Way of Sumner County is to create positive change and long-term solutions by mobilizing the caring power of communities.
Background
Since 1977, United Way of Sumner County has worked to improve the daily lives and future opportunities of all Sumner County residents by mobilizing the caring power of communities. In support of this mission, United Way of Sumner County seeks to help increase the organized capacity of people to care for one another. The United Way is a local, comprehensive, accountable, and transparent way to meet growing needs in Sumner County. Each United Way is a locally governed non-profit organization led by a volunteer Board of Directors.
Impact
United Way of Sumner County partners with 30 local non-profit health and human service organizations to advance the common good by creating opportunities for a better life for all. United Way focuses on Education, Financial Stability, Health, and Rebuilding Lives. United Way brings together people and organizations who bring the passion, expertise, and resources needed to create sustainable change through giving, advocating, and volunteering.
Needs
United Way of Sumner County is fighting for a community where every person- no matter their background, their abilities, or their zip code- has an equal chance at a bright future. We are the hand raisers, the game changers. We are the problem solvers for those issues facing our community that are difficult to face and too hard to ignore. No matter the obstacle, we surround our community's most critical problems and we fight. We fight for the health, education and financial stability of every person in our community. Why? Because we know that change begins when we Live United, and that building a better tomorrow starts today. We need vested donors, advocates, and volunteers willing to help provide the resources necessary to create a positive impact throughout the community.
CEO Statement
United Way of Sumner County continues to provide critical services and resources to our local community, ensuring each individual and family is able to have a good quality of life here. For so many, The past couple of years have been difficult and transformational - our local United Way is no different. We literally cannot do our positive work and provide so much without individuals, churches, foundations, big corporations, smalls businesses, civic groups, chambers, and so on..we simply couldn't. We could not make significant strides or achieve important community goals without your support. Through it all, because of you, we continue serving. We look forward to better days ahead and to when we truly can all be united together once again. We hope you will continue to support us in rebuilding and re-imagining our community.
