Mission

To bring people together through art and history to explore our diverse cultures and heritages.

Background

Born out of a need to preserve the past in 1968, the Tullahoma Fine Arts Center brought quality art experiences to the region, while also protecting and nurturing the legacy of the three Baillet sisters. This could not have been accomplished if not for a great group of Tullahoma citizens. This group not only established the organization but saved the Baillet home from demolition.

The Tullahoma Fine Arts Center is a distinct regional fine arts and history museum reaching across the globe.

The Museum is situated in a picturesque Italianate historic building in the southern downtown Tullahoma corridor. Our 10,000+ square foot climate-controlled facility houses an array of exhibitions ranging from local & regional artists to world history including WWII's Camp Forrest.

In addition to the multitude of art and history exhibitions the Museum offers an array of local art for sell from member artists, arts education workshops and historical lecture series. The Museum maintains its own archives and research department in which it stores an eclectic range of Regional Art, Reconstruction Era Art, WWII Era POW (Prisoner of War) Art and other pieces such as the American Watercolor Society.

Through a multitude of media experiences, displays, texts and artifacts - along with a variety of educational programs and community events - the exciting art and history of our Tennessee region and their far-reaching influences come alive. We invite you to visit the Tullahoma Fine Arts Center - Regional Art & History Museum.

Impact

Over the past couple years the Tullahoma Fine Arts Center has created numerous new programs included but not limited to a TFAC Youth Council, Professional Traveling Exhibitions, an art & history program, community outreach for socially disadvantaged and a Veterans Outreach Program.

Needs

There are multiple needs that our organization currently faces which include but not limited to: financial support (goal of $50,000) for operations, program creation, traveling exhibitions and funding for community outreach and Veterans and families and the establishment of a Director of Development. The Veteran Outreach Program is an important part of our organization and is currently in need of funding. Volunteers are needed in all aspects; marketing, exhibit curating, art therapy for veteran outreach. The organization is currently seeking art instructors, and history lecturers.

CEO Statement

For 54 years, our organization has been a staple in the community. As times have changed, we must continue to be sustainable and to fill a need within our community. This has led to significant changes within our organization and an exciting new journey. The Tullahoma Fine Arts Center now offers arts and history programming. This change of structure and programming allows for new adventures and ways to help within our community.

The integrity and structure of our organization is of the upmost importance while serving our community. The Tullahoma Fine Arts Center will continue to be a staple in our community - whilst continuing to create opportunities in which others would not normally be afforded. The new structure and programming of our organization focuses on art and history. Thus, providing vast cultural and historical aspects of humanity.

The Tullahoma Fine Arts Center has created numerous relationships with education entities and others such as the Department of the Navy and will host multiple art and history exhibitions throughout the year. Our facilities will also be to host to a permanent Camp Forrest exhibition made possible by the Camp Forrest Foundation.

I believe two of my favorite changes to our programming is our children's outreach through the Youth Council and the new Veteran's outreach program which will assist Veterans and their families in our region by offering the essentials that those individuals need and offering opportunities for individuals suffering from issues such as PTSD. These opportunities are extremely important.
