Description
Weekly support groups- each week we offer a rich experience by giving solo parents an opportunity to gather together in fellowship. Our new format for our groups will allow us to disciple each participant in a way that encourages them to share, learn and grow. Our curriculum for each event focuses on a specific topic based on the needs of the solo parent and their families. One of the biggest concerns for a solo parent is isolation and the feeling they have nowhere to turn for real-life answers. These groups are addressing this concern and covering topics such as emotional health, spiritual growth, budgeting, raising healthy kids, etc.

CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments

I remember the moment I knew I was going to have to raise my three girls on my own. The overwhelming sense that I knew I was alone and a new normal was about to begin. I had to become both parents when I felt like less than one. Every single parents can relate to feeling alone, exhausted, afraid and overwhelmed; trying to carry the load of two parents not knowing where we fit, not knowing how or if we can actually start again. Every day of every year millions of solo parents wake up to the same reality. Solo Parent Society was started by solo parents for solo parents as a place where we can begin to heal, connect with others in the same condition, share each other's burdens and start to believe there is hope. I will tell you firsthand that life can be fuller, relationships can be richer; we can be happier and content in our souls. We can journey through a transformation that, with the right perspective, brings more good into our lives to overcome all we have lost. Knowing that we are not alone, we start to see that God's most powerful work begins in broken places.
