Description
Within 72 hours of being accepted into the Dismas program, residents receive temporary housing arrangements, a welcome package that includes bedding, hygiene products, and a gift card for them to purchase other essentials they may need, a 90 day bus pass so they can use the public transit system to commute to work, meetings, or anywhere in Middle Tennessee at their leisure.

Description
The most important component to our program is also our only unquantifiable measure of the Dismas program. From the first day a resident joins the Dismas Family, we overly explain the culture of support we offer and detail the importance of adopting the family-like atmosphere promoted at Dismas. This mentality is encouraged by the volunteers recruited to help administer direct service program elements. In exit interviews with former residents, the ability to provide a family-like structure is the single most vital aspect of programming that helped them successfully transition back into society. We introduce every resident to a network of volunteers and staff members whose sole purpose is to help them succeed.
Long-term Success
Life Skills residents are assigned a case manager who advises them on workforce readiness and coaches them on reentry barriers. Life Skills classes include opening a bank account, obtaining identification, completing resumes, technology skills, financial literacy, WeGo public transportation class, and healthcare education classes.

That plan will be the basis of each weekly case management session. Long-term Success
Legal Support covers an attorney to reduce fines/fees and establish a payment plan, necessitated through the courts so that their driver's license can be reinstated, expungements and information on resolving child support payments.

Description
Each resident is asked to participate in four financial empowerment sessions aimed at equipping them with the necessary tools needed to financially support themselves upon leaving our care. These sessions range on topics from: Developing a budget, adopting a savings mentality, Credit Repair Understanding, the IRS Home Ownership Investments. We have a financial partner that will open a traditional banking accounts with the individual so they are ready for their paychecks to be directly deposited avoiding the high transactional service providers.

Description
Supported employment helps people living with behavioral health conditions work at regular jobs of their choosing. Individual Placement and Support (IPS) specialists are trained in an evidence based practice to help individual achieve their career goals.
Program Successes
A Dismas House resident wants to work as a chef. With the help of the IPS specialist he has full time employment is a fine dining restaurant in Nashville and is enrolled in a culinary training program.

We can support 70 individuals in the program at one time and will provide assistance within the parameters of the IPS program.
