Description
In 2018, Transformation Life Center established a partnership with Black Men Run to specifically address the literacy and health of young boys of color through the Black Men Run, Brown Boys Read initiative.

The goal of our initiative is to improve outcomes for young boys of color in the area of literacy, health and leadership.

Literacy: Stimulate a love for reading that results in improved literacy scores )
Health & Wellness: Develop a healthy lifestyles through running and exercise
Leadership: Cultivate future African American male leaders who positively impact their homes, schools and community

Black Men Run, Brown Boys Read is an 8-10 week after school and summer program. The program fosters relationships with schools in under-represented communities, bearing the heaviest burden of disease, poor health status and access to a quality education. We provide the hope and aspirations for these young men to be confident in the classroom, and live fuller and healthier lives.
