Description
This innovative employment program connects survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence into meaningful employment opportunities. The scalable program 1) identifies and vets employers who present meaningful careers (not dead-end jobs) with opportunity for advancement, 2) provides support to employers seeking to adapt their workplace environment to be conducive trauma-informed, and 3) properly prepare survivors for the workforce. The program is holistic in its approach, which integrates therapy to help each survivor navigate his/her/their personal and professional development aspects of workplace challenges, and help build strategies for addressing those challenges in a trauma-informed manner that suits the needs of the survivor and employer. The intended outcomes are increased survivor productivity and livelihood for independent living, reduction in the rates of recidivism amongst survivors, reduction of long-term dependency on social services and improved regional workforce.
