OUR ACTIVE MEMBERS CARRY INFORMATION WITH THEM WHEN HIKING WHICH IS USED TO INTRODUCE OTHER PARK USERS WITH OUR FRIENDS GROUP. BY JOINING OUR GROUP THEY WILL BE PART OF HELPING AND PRESERVING THE PARK.

Description
Held each October, the Friends of Long Hunter State Park Mega Hike involves all 26 mile of trails in our park. Hikers enjoy the diverse terrain Long Hunter offers and hike as many or as few of the trails as they like. Those who complete all 26 miles on the day of the race receive a certificate of achievement.

CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments

The Spring Thing event brings many new people to the park but takes a great deal of volunteer energy.. Having a chairman for programs on our Board is essential for this event otherwise the use of several volunteer leaders taking charge of various aspects will be employed.
