Description
All pregnancy services are provided free of charge and include: pregnancy tests, limited obstetrical ultrasounds, prenatal education and vitamins and access to our Bridge Program. We connect clients with a partnering OBs (who accept clients regardless of their insurance status) to obtain full prenatal care. Our Bridge program provides in-depth support through the following components: personal growth counseling, mentorship, education, and case management. Through participation, clients earn point-based material assistance for items such as maternity and baby items. Trained mentors help clients set personal goals, establish obstetrical care, assist with WIC, TennCare and food stamp applications and provide referrals as needed for housing/resources. Taught in partnership with Belmont University's School of Nursing and specialist volunteers, Bridge education classes include newborn care, parenting, emotional growth and budgeting.
Program Successes
Leann found Hope Clinic when she was at the lowest point in her life. Unexpectedly pregnant and stuck in a toxic and abusive family relationships she felt entirely helpless (she had even broken her ankle and was in crutches at 10 weeks pregnant). She was emotionally distraught, homeless, and ready to throw in the towel for both her and her baby. She found Hope Clinic at just the right moment and enrolled in our Bridge parenting program. She attended 4 classes a week and physical therapy. We were able to find her temporary housing, professional counseling for the trauma she was working through, and introduce her to our community of support. Through our partnership with Baby + Co she was able to deliver her daughter in a trauma-informed environment and her mentor was able to be with her to cut the umbilical cord. Since graduating from our program she has started a photography business and built up the funds to move to Michigan to be near family that will continue to care for her.

Long-term Success
The big picture goal of this program is to make abundant life possible for every mother, child, and family that received services from us. It is our hope that women who find themselves unexpectedly pregnant are able to choose life for their child and we want that life to be full of support, love, and growth. Every service we offer is so that women feel valued, supported, and empowered. We are creating healthy families that will in turn positively impact the communities they interact with.
Short-term Success
Each year it is our goal to ensure that between 500-700 women know that Hope Clinic exists and choose us to begin their pregnancy journey. We hope that of those positive pregnancy tests, 50% of those women enroll in our Bridge program and stay active for majority of the time allotted (until their child is a year old). We measure the success of our parenting program through quarterly assessments measuring mental health, resource access, and personal goals set by participants in the program.
Program Success Monitored By
We monitor the success of our Bridge Parenting Program in a few ways. For Bridge Participants with an ACE's score of 3 or higher, we recommend counseling. Counseling assessments include quarterly EPDS, GAD-7 and/or PHQ-9. Our goal is that each participant sees a 25% improvement in those scores through 8 or more sessions. We also provide additional in-house assessments of counseling measuring progress towards stated goals, improvement in coping ability, and improve quality of personal, professional, and familial relationships. General program success for all Bridge participants includes a self-efficacy questionnaire administered twice a year. The goal is to see an increased score of 2 within 6 months of participation in the program. Lastly we measure success by our clients' resiliency using a Resilience Questionnaire. Our client face many setbacks and obstacles and we hope that we are equipping them to bounce-back quicker and respond more positively to negative experiences.

CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments

Hope Clinic has an amazing reputation in the community for providing compassionate, efficient, and robust care for women and their families. We have been able to adapt to the ever-changing world we live, including introducing a hybrid model of virtual and in-person care in early 2020. Our team of providers are the backbone of what we do and we face labor shortages and increasing client demand, we must act creatively to attract and retain providers that model of our level of compassionate care. As our client's needs have increased, we want to always remain in-sync with other organizations we can partner with to ensure abundant life is available for those we serve. For the last 20 years we have measurably monitored and tracked our strategic goals and outcomes for our clients. We find it critical that our clients leave here changed, more equipped, more mentally healthy, and more self-sustaining than when they arrived. That is combined with all the post-visit survey results and client comments we track. We want to be sure our client's voice is heard. We also want our donors to know that the vision they are investing in is being achieved. We want to be sure what we do matters and helps the community of Middle Tennessee.
