Sheila's Experience: Sheila Moore has been involved in the disability community on a local, statewide and national level for 25 years. She is the parent of two children, one of which has an intellectual disability. She is one of the founders of the Down Syndrome Association of Middle Tennessee and served as their executive director for 16 years. She has served on the Tennessee Council on Developmental Disabilities, DIDDS Statewide Planning and Policy Council, Tennessee Alliance for Disabilities, and the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center Post Secondary Education Council. She is a member of the National Down Syndrome Society, National Down Syndrome Congress, Tennessee Coalition on Education, and the Nashville Area Habitat for Humanity Selection Committee. She is recognized on statewide, national and international level for her expertise in working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families and for her leadership in the disability community.

CEO Statement The Arc Davidson County & Greater Nashville is committed to protect, promote and advocate for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. As a parent of a young adult with an intellectual disability, I am excited to be a part of an organization that my family has personally benefited from for twenty-five years. We collaborate with other organizations on a local, statewide and national level to ensure the rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are protected.
