Description
MAPs is a program that will set people with intellectual and developmental disabilities on a path to learn skills to help them work, live independently, learn about their neighborhoods, and find hobbies that interest them. Description
Family Support: The Arc provides an average of $1,000 annually to 596 families in Davidson County and 108 families in Wilson County. These funds are provided help them support a family member with a severe disability. Funds may be used to help provide for basic needs, emergency medical care, in-home care sitter services, home health supplies and equipment, after-school and summer care for children and other needed services. There is no financial eligibility criteria. The program is supported by the Tennessee Department of Intellectual Disabilities (DIDD).-----------------------------------------------------------------Targeted Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Family Support Program: TN Department of Health has partnered with The Arc Davidson County & Greater Nashville to administer the state-wide Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Target Family Support Program effective July 1, 2017. The intent is to assist those who have traumatic brain injury in remaining independent in their homes and community. The Arc will grant individuals a $2,000 reimbursement allocation per fiscal year.Program Budget: $280,000

Description
The Arc Davidson County's Independent Support Coordination (ISC) program employs 11 independent support coordinators who support 320 adults and children with intellectual disabilities in 20 counties in Middle Tennessee. The coordinators help their people plan for and access medical, dental, therapeutic care, and support services which contribute to an individual's self-sufficiency and participation in home, work and community life. Adults and children with intellectual disabilities who qualify for the Medicaid Waiver are eligible. The program is funded through a provider agreement with the Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Of the program's many accomplishments, the one that program staff are most proud of, is the continued collaboration and participation with the Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in the development and promotion of person-centered practices and policies.

Description
The Arc sees every person with a disability as a potential employee. In fact, Supported & Customized Employment, as defined at the federal level, is designed as a service reserved for people with the most severe disabilities. We believe everyone can work and it is up to us to make the right job match that will promote employment success for each person. Our services have supported numerous individuals with significant disabilities in becoming successfully employed, productive members of their communities. Employment Services will soon be available in Davidson County and Williamson County. Job Development - a tailored approach to finding the right job match for each person, and for assisting businesses in securing valuable employees Population Served: Adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Description
The Arc collaborates with other disability agencies to offer workshops, conferences and support groups to assist families advocating for their child or adult family member with a disability. The Arc also works with employment services in teaching adults with disabilities how to advocate for themselves. Self-advocacy is an important skill that leads to greater independence.
